WARRANTY AND RESPONSIBILITY

SOGEFI warrants to the non-business end-user (a buyer from one of the member states of the European Union), for a period of 2 years from the initial date of purchase that the new filters branded COOPERS are free from both physical and manufacturing defects, subject to the end user's compliance with specific recommendations made by SOGEFI and manufacturers of the vehicles on which the filters have been installed, in respect of assembly, maintenance and usage. Business buyers, distributors and dealers benefit from a similar warranty provided in SOGEFI's General Terms of Sale.

SOGEFI's warranty, set out above, does not cover:

• damage caused by non-compliance with recommendations given by SOGEFI and the manufacturers recommendations,
• wrongful utilisation, negligence, incorrect assembly or attempts to open up, repair or modify the filters,
• damage resulting from the use of filters which does not correspond with the specifications provided by the manufacturers,
• scratches, grazes and other damage to external parts of the filters, or any other damage which does not prevent the product from functioning effectively,
• general wear and tear or extensive use of the filters, leading to clogging, oxidisation, corrosion,
• damage caused by external factors, all types of incidents and accidents and general damage occurring after the date of the initial purchase.

SOGEFI undertakes, subject to the terms of the above warranty, to replace free of charge, defective filters and/or filters which do not comply with the manufacturer's specifications and to pay for the repair of a vehicle should it break down or suffer damage as a direct result of a defective or non-compliant filter branded COOPERS as recorded by SOGEFI's Technical Department. All defective filters which the end-user considers to be covered by the warranty will be the subject of an evaluation by SOGEFI's Technical Department. The evaluation may conclude after the relevant products have been replaced, that a breakdown or damage is not covered by the warranty. This will result in an invoice being sent to the end-user to cover the cost of the replacement products.

This warranty does not affect your statutory rights.

SOGEFI will accept no liability for indirect loss or damage caused to the end-user as a result of the malfunctioning of a COOPERS filter.

SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

COOPERS filters must only be used in accordance with SOGEFI's recommendations and specifications of assembly and utilisation, and those of the vehicle manufacturers on which filters have been installed, in particular, in relation to the replacement of filters and oil changes.
The filters must not be taken apart, exposed to an inflammable risk or the risk of damage such as naked flames, pointed objects or sharp surfaces. The inflammation or damage of certain filters could result in the emission of toxic and/ or oxidising substances.

While the filters are being assembled, it is imperative that the vehicle is stationary and immobilised and that the ignition has been switched off for such time to prevent any risk of burn injuries resulting from the high temperature of the engine. The assembly must be carried out with appropriate tools and without any forcing or bending of the filters or the vehicle parts on which they have been installed.
After the assembly, it is necessary to check that there are no leaks. The checks must be carried out when the engine is running at a normal temperature. If leaks do occur, this can cause the engine to break down and/or a road accident.

The present catalogue overrides and supercedes any previous editions. SOGEFI has taken great care in the present catalogue to ensure the accuracy of the compilation of technical references concerning vehicles, engines and filters. However, since the information in the catalogue may have been updated since it was included in the catalogue, SOGEFI is not able to accept liability for the accuracy of the content. Furthermore, similarities between COOPERS products and the products of manufacturers and competitors listed in the world index and table of correspondents shall not constitute any warranty from SOGEFI as to similarity and interchangeability of products and under no circumstances shall SOGEFI accept any liability in the case of the malfunctioning of a product. You are advised to refer to the information and recommendations provided by the manufacturer and seek professional advice when choosing a suitable product in order to avoid the possibility of a malfunctioning product. Your authorised distributor and SOGEFI's Technical Department are always willing to respond to any of your queries and matters needing clarification.
